PaD, Day 19

PaD'11 Jan 19th
A different view of Westboro Village.  I love that this could have been taken in any city in Canada- that's certainly not to say that each city is not unique, but that if you really look there are aspects that unite them all.

PaD, Day 18

PaD'11 Jan 18th
This is the beginning of an idea I want to play with a little more in the future. The cameras are my grandfather's and his sisters, and one of them still has film in it!

PaD, Day 17

PaD'11 Jan 17
Ok, so I'm kind of posting two photos for today, but I have to make up for the missing photos earlier in the week! I find this watch so beautiful, even in its decline, that I had to show both sides.

PaD, Day 16

PaD'11, Jan 16
Ice climbing in Calabogie. The temperature hovered around -18c that day. The ice was HARD!

PaD, Day 15

PaD'11, Jan 15
Beautiful atmosphere at the top of Camp Fortune in the snow and cloud.

PaD, Day 14

PaD'11, Jan 14
Just hanging out, brightening up a drab wall at work.

PaD, Day 13

PaD'11, Jan 13
Some spinning I've been working on, very sporadically. It's been sitting idle, calling to me for a while now!

PaD, Day 10

PaD'11, Jan 10
Quick round of knitting before getting the day underway.

PaD, Day 9

PaD'11 Jan 9
Day 2 of fish ownership, and the tank goes cloudy. This is supposed to happen, right...?

PaD, Day 8

PaD'11 Jan 8
New family members, Stevie and Morck. Guppy and snail, and creators of great delight in 7 year old kid.

PaD, Day 7

PaD'11 Jan 7
Lovely little stone church in Westboro that sits tucked in between two modern buildings. Right across the street from work, it's nice to have it nearby, and particularly nice in the snow. Kind of Harry Potter-ish, or just a step back in time.

PaD, Day 6

PaD'11 Jan 6
Props to The Naked Fish, the new sushi and soup joint in Westboro for offering up a nice new alternative to the lunch options in the neighbourhood.

PaD, Day 5

PaD'11 Jan 5
Part of a mural in Westboro Village, commemorating the service of Ottawa firefighters.

PaD, Day 4

Morning drive after light snow. 'Nuff said!

PaD, Day 3

20110103-DSCF0378.jpg
When I'm not behind the camera I'm behind the Member Service Desk at a local outdoor sports store, where sometimes I get to do cool jobs like mount ski bindings. This is the first pair I did this season. Always a new challenge!

PaD, Day 2

PaD_11_jan2.jpg
When good ideas turn bad... such a great mug, but the foil transferred on the tape! The great news though is that it is all being sorted out, and a new mug is on its way.

Much more awesomeness to be found at Photojojo, and the people there are just great. Thumbs up!

Photo-a-Day, 2011, The Rules...

In an effort to spice things up in my little corner of photography, I've decided to do a Photo-a-Day project for 2011. The rules are simple:

1. One photograph every day, no days off.
2. The PaD photograph must not be part of a Closely Knit shoot.
3. Have a camera with me wherever I go.
4. Be creative.

I may decide that a snapshot of something along the day will do it, or I might set about doing a more elaborate shoot. It all comes down to what catches my fancy and what time allows! In the end though, I think it'll end up being a really neat exercise to keep me on my toes, and hopefully push my creativity forward.

I will try my best to get a post up daily, but it won't always be possible. Sometimes there will just have to be a collection of photographs to look forward to!

With all this down for the world to see, on with 2011!

Cheers,
Sarah

In this space you'll have a chance to see what I'm up to these days, and get a taste of what's catching my eye. Please feel free to say hello in the comments- I'd love to hear what you think, what's catching your eye, or just a friendly hello. The door is always open!

As it's also the start of a new year, I'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy 2011, filled with laughter and love, and surrounded by your Closely Knit family and friends.
